These projects, which incorporate new services and technological benefits to sectors such as tourism, the agroalimentary or the sanitary, Malaga begin to lead the creation of university 'spin off' in Andalusia, with a total of 22 companies, which have had an incentive 2.4 million euros by the Agency IDEA.

Campus Program

The objective of this program is to create subsidiaries principally from the researchers and universities to develop projects involving a technological breakthrough in the development of new and improved products or processes. Thus, the Campus project achieves that research results are transformed into a business reality, creating technology based companies.

To that end, the Department of Innovation, Science and Enterprise supports the implementation of projects that meet these characteristics by providing through Invercaria, an equity loan of up to 300,000 euros. Repayment of this loan and the interest generated, will depend on the results obtained by the project.

For its part, the University is committed to playing a tutory for the project work right from the start to what will count with the collaboration of the Invercaria and provincial managements of  IDEA. The Agency is responsible for providing the necessary advice to the financing and project development, aiming to ensure the best chance of success.

The success of Campus has made possible to extend his formula beyond the universities, and has signed cooperation agreements with other research centers such as Centro Tecnológico Andaluz de la Piedra (CTAP), the Fundación Progreso y Salud, or the Superior Council for the Scientific Investigation de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).
